The administration team will endeavour to assist kaumatua and their whānau with their applications by providing the necessary information to make the process easy for them. We ask that applicants read the eligibility requirements to ensure they understand the process.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. To apply for a kaumatua grant the applicant must be registered with the RUHT and, be 65 years and over. (If you are not sure if you are registered please contact the Administrator of the RUHT on 0800 525 626). 
  2. All applicants must provide proof of age; a photocopy of either a birth certificate; passport; drivers licence or; a Superannuation gold card, with their application.
  3. The application form must be completed correctly.
  4. All supporting documentation requested must be attached to the application form.
  5. Applicants can only apply for one grant per calendar year.
  6. Kaumatua living outside of New Zealand are not eligible to apply for the Kaumatua Well-Being Grant.
